Dastkar

I should have put this up earlier, but what the heck, better late than never.

THere is a fabulous exhibition cum sale of all kinds of fabrics and clothes at Chitra Kala Parishad, Kumara Krupa Road, Bangalore (Near Hotel Grand Ashok) being organised by Dastkar, an NGO that supports various tribal and other disadvantaged communities of weavers.

If you like the kind of stuff that FabIndia stocks, but don't want to spend as much, and want to see a lot more variety, pop over to this exhibition cum sale; the stuff is flying off the shelves.

Pay special attention to The Ant (also under the brand name Aagor) store, in one of the inner rooms. If you need any help, ask for Jenny. She's a star, and is most helpful.

The exhibition is on only till the 2nd of September. Oh, and they accept credit cards, so don't worry about being cashstrapped. Definitely a must do event.
